I want to wish everyone a very happy Moon Festival. Be sure to eat lots of yummy mooncakes. I tend to like the ones with the egg yokes inside... as I understand it, that type of mooncake is sort of difficult to get in the States.

Don't know about non-Asian parts of the US, but you can get plenty of mooncakes in Chinatown and Flushing, with or without egg yolks. My favorite kinds are the Taiwanese kinds from Yi Mei Fang bakery in Flushing (Roosevelt Ave. by Main St.). They are smaller than like the picture you posted, and they have all kinds of interesting flavors like green tea, plum (one of my favorites), mango, lychee. If you have time, head to Flushing this weekend and try some mooncakes!
